Performance and Textile Installation
Ser/Viniendo is a textile installation that counts on the presence and movements of a body in order to reach its full physical size. This hanging plastic structure unfolds and extends as a body inside it repetitively unties a rope and eventually exists it. Through this process of metamorphic struggle, the volume of the structure remains the same even if its original form changes. It is in a constant process of transforming into what it already is. A kind of be coming. Crudely translated into Spanish as Ser/Viniendo.
Opening performance for the exhibition Ser/Viniendo-Be/Coming-De/Venir by Laura Acosta and David Jaime Riuiz, curated by Marx Ruiz-Wilson, at Tap gallery in Montreal, 2018.
